Welcome!

I'm delighted you've found
your way here.

You have lived a full life, gaining wisdom and clarity along the journey. You scoff at the labels society imposes on aging women. You are not alone - many other women are questioning the old stories about aging. Like you, they want to:

  • Explore fresh perspectives on aging to gain a renewed sense of purpose.

  • Develop an understanding of their own unique journey.

  • Gain inspiration and guidance for living intentionally with curiosity, passion, and a clear sense of purpose.

  • Meet like-minded women who also see aging as a season of possibilities, not diminishment.

In 2020, I launched Ageless Possibilities, looking for a sense of belonging and connection with like-minded women who are also embracing this stage of life.

I wanted to reflect and share stories of my past as I stood on the threshold of this new stage of life. I hoped to challenge stereotypes and showcase older women living fully and passionately. I was eager to write about issues that hold meaning for older women. And, I was looking forward to exploring the aging possibilities that are open to us as we become wiser, speak our truth, and live meaningful lives. Six years later, this still rings true.

So who am I?

My name is Helen and I am a sixty-six year old woman who lives on an island in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and dog.  I am a writer, storyteller, wannabe gardener, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

  • Most mornings you will find me walking through old growth forest with my dog. But my heart feels most at peace by the ocean, listening to the rustle of pebbles conversing with the sea.

  • I crave solitude. I expect I spend far too much time alone - although I’m not sure if there is such a thing!

  • I am a voracious reader - have been since childhood.

  • I have struggled with depression since adolescence, finally getting a diagnoses of dysthymia in my early fifties.

  • I love travelling solo. Over the years I have cycled through northern Thailand, rode a camel through the Moroccon desert, walked the Portuguese Coastal Camino, and hiked the Asturian Mountains in Spain - all by myself!

  • I am an information broker and and relationship builder. I have a passion for research, learning, and fresh ideas - and then sharing that information with you!

  • And I am a weaver, valuing our differences as much as our similarities, bringing us together to address common interests and shared needs, and wanting you to feel like you are not alone in this life stage.
